Went with bags of enthusiasm in a refitted visor when chasing home Littletown Lad over C&D last time. Benefits from a 3 lb pull at the weights here and could make a bold bid for a first hurdles victory, if headgear has the same effect.
Expert Analysis (IRE)
Fair Flat maiden. Finished as close as he has over hurdles when 7¾ lengths third to Littletown Lad over C&D latest, only a smidge below his best form in Ireland. Entitled to close that gap from revised terms, especially as this is just his second start for a capable yard.
Karthala
Maiden who has done plenty wrong in his races despite hitting the frame on his last 4 hurdle starts. Best not judged too harshly on his latest spin on the Flat (left poorly placed). Weighted to be competitive in first-time visor back hurdling but looks stable second string on jockey bookings.
Littletown Lad (IRE)
Strong traveller who's settled better in recent starts and duly made more impact. Confirmed the promise of his Uttoxeter second when scoring by 1¾ lengths (pecked last) from Character Testing over C&D last time. Still one to be interested in off 5 lb higher, and he may well follow up.
Twilight Safari
Fair Flat maiden (stays 1¾m). Didn't cut much ice in juvenile/maiden hurdles. In reasonable heart on the level prior to seeming unsuited by conditions at Ripon last time. Opening hurdle mark hardly looks prohibitive on his Flat exploits and yard in better form than when last seen in this sphere.
Far Away West (IRE)
Has shown the odd glimmer of promise in 20 winless starts. Perhaps wasn't over a recent fall when running badly at Southwell when last seen. Still has questions to answer following 16-month absence, though.
Scoro (FR)
Winner pointer. No show in 2m maiden hurdles. Made more impact switched to fences when 11½ lengths fourth at Cartmel (21f) latest, without fully seeing out his race in first-time cheekpieces and tongue strap. Remains to be seen if he can build on that back down in trip on handicap hurdle bow.
Red Trail (IRE)
Long-standing maiden over jumps. Finished as close as she has in a while over hurdles when beaten 8½ lengths at Market Rasen last month, however, she failed to build on that when well held behind Littletown Lad here subsequently.
Peace Motivator
Temperamental sort. Regressed since winning a bumper on debut for Olly Murphy in autumn 2024. Fared no better for switch to fences/a breathing operation when well beaten in first-time tongue strap here 5 days ago.
Mr Globalist (IRE)
Ran his best race since joining current yard when 3¾ lengths third in similar race at Cartmel in July. Hasn't built on that in a couple of starts since and his record (0-33 over hurdles/fences, 0-10 on the Flat) speaks for itself.
