Roker Roar (IRE)
Posted best effort to date when short-head second of 4 to Aravalli in 11.5f handicap at Windsor last month, having been allowed to dictate a slow gallop. Distinct lack of front runners in this field suggests he's likely to face a similar scenario here so must be respected.
Much
Having been gelded, took a notable step forward when 1½ lengths second of 7 to Roc de Fer at Wolverhampton (1½m) in July. Possibly found race coming too soon when below that form at Musselburgh just 7 days later, but no surprise were he to bounce back for in-form yard and title-chasing rider.
Fiefdom (IRE)
Good fifth in maiden at Wolverhampton (8.5f) in June but well below that level on both outings since. Step up in trip something of an unknown on handicap debut.
Al Maslool
Didn't need to improve when getting off the mark in 10-runner handicap at Chester (12.3f) in July but wasn't in the same form at Leicester last time and previously worn blinkers now replace cheekpieces. Needs to bounce back.
Mr Moonshine (IRE)
Good efforts when in frame in handicaps on last 3 starts, in first-time cheekpieces when 4¾ lengths third of 5 to Wardlaw at Beverley on latest. Headgear now removed and unproven on the surface but every chance he could get this run to suit if taking up his usual prominent position.
Choir Boy (IRE)
Shaped as if he had work to do from his opening mark when 4¾ lengths seventh of 10 to Prince Of Calypso at Wolverhampton on handicap debut last time. Down 3 lb.
Grand Pier
Low-mileage sort who showed further improvement when winning 9-runner apprentice handicap at Ffos Las 7 days ago by 5 lengths from The Anthony Gover. Should handle the step up to 1½m and is very much one to beat racing from the same mark here.
