STEPS IN THE SAND seems best around this trip and can go one place better than at Bellewstown last week. Willie Mullins' handicap newcomer Ivana d'Alco has to be respected in opposition, with the consistent Chemdawg also meriting consideration.

Comentários Timeform

Tir Og (IRE)
Won 3 times in the first half of last season and stopped the slide with cheekpieces applied when fourth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Downpatrick (19f, good to firm) 81 days ago. Has good chance on pick of form, though consistency wouldn't be her strong suit.
Ivana D'alco (FR)
Point winner who was much improved from her hurdling debut when winning a 7-runner novice hurdle (3/1) at Sligo (21f, good) 28 days ago, keeping on well despite failing to settle. Can progress again now handicapping.
Small Bucks (IRE)
Improved to open her account for the season at Downpatrick in July and quickly resumed winning ways in mares handicap at Tramore (2m, good) last month. Respectable eighth of 14 in a deeper race (10/1) at Down Royal (17f, good) 6 days ago.
Del Boys Diva (IRE)
Proved a different proposition since the tongue strap was applied, decisive in landing handicap hurdles at Roscommon/Wexford in recent weeks but seemingly undone by an 11 lb rise when 11 lengths fifth of 9 to Small Bucks in handicap hurdle at Tramore (2m, good, 9/2) 20 days ago.
Shirzan (IRE)
Off the mark in a juvenile event at Limerick (2m, soft) in March, seeming well suited by the emphasis on speed, and similar form when sixth at Cork on latest hurdles outing in May. First past the post in Flat maiden at Tramore last month (disqualified after rider weighed in light). Handicap debut.
Diamond Tipp (IRE)
Successful at the first time of asking over hurdles at Downpatrick last summer. Fallen a long way in the weights since and bounced back to form on third start for present yard when second at Cork last month but not at the same level in first-time cheekpieces when mid-field here 2 weeks ago.
Steps In The Sand (IRE)
Benefited from the step back up in trip when a ½-length second of 16 in handicap hurdle at Bellewstown (2½m, good) 8 days ago, collared only late by an unexposed rival. Makes appeal again from just 2 lb higher.
Laurie Blue (IRE)
Unreliable type who followed a below-par effort with an even worse one in first-time cheekpieces at Cork in July. Questions to answer.
Andyourbirdcansing (IRE)
Inconsistent performer took advantage of a slipping mark under a good-value claimer at Sligo last month. Probably wasn't helped by the drop in trip when below form there (2¼m) subsequently but essentially remains a difficult one to catch right.
Bowgate Street (IRE)
Sole success came at Sligo in May. In and out form since, though produced another solid effort when third of 13 in handicap hurdle (13/2) at Sligo (2¼m, good) 15 days ago.
Evelyn (IRE)
In the frame in mares maidens at Cork/Tramore in the spring. Not seen to best effect on either start since handicapping and mark still looks workable.
Last Note (FR)
More miss than hit for Nick Littmoden and offered little in 2 starts for this yard earlier in the summer. Blinkered for first time here.
Circus Act (IRE)
Won a thin Down Royal handicap off 2 lb higher last spring. Wasn't disgraced on the Flat on stable debut in July but never figured back over hurdles last time. Blinkers goes back on alongside first-time tongue strap.
Chemdawg (IRE)
Gained a first win in this sphere over C&D in April and has held her form well since, again emerging with credit back over hurdles when fifth of 14 at Ballinrobe (2m, good) 24 days ago. Shortlisted.
Larkins Lane (IRE)
Won at Limerick in May before following up at Sligo 2 weeks later. Ran creditably again after a 7 lb rise when fourth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Wexford (2½m, good, 17/2) 27 days ago but that evidence might suggest the handicapper is now in control. Cheekpieces on 1st time.
Demanding Gerry (IRE)
Maiden has finished runner-up 4 times in handicaps, including at Wexford in May, but shaped as if amiss (pulled up) when last seen here 41 days ago, Needs to bounce back.
Frontier Rose
Maiden who backed up previous effort when sixth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Sligo (2¼m, good) 28 days ago. Looks no more than averagely treated, though. RESERVE.
St Anthonys Corner (IRE)
Went off the boil over hurdles last year before an inauspicious start over fences at Sligo. Something to prove back hurdling following 11 months off. RESERVE.
