The Mediator (IRE)
Won on the Flat at Clonmel (16.5f) last September. Resumed from 7 months off with a solid third of 6 in conditions event at Listowel (13f) in May but below par twice since. Also down the field in a charity race at the Curragh on Saturday. Bounce back needed.
Whimsy
Went close on the Flat at Musselburgh in April but didn't look straightforward when eighth of 24 in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown 5 days later. Freshened up since.
Black Heather (IRE)
Lightly raced in this sphere and returned from a 12-month absence with 2 solid in-frame efforts in maidens over 1½m. No impact in a 2m handicap at the Galway Festival since but still early days in this sphere.
Not Just Any Eagle (IRE)
Thirteen runs since last win in 2025. Very good second of 9 in handicap at Leopardstown (15f, good to firm, 5/2) 27 days ago, collared late on. Not taken lightly.
Friary Road (IRE)
Bumper/hurdle winner who ran his best race on the Flat when second at Leopardstown (15f, good to firm) 41 days ago despite not being ideally placed. Comes into the reckoning.
Timurshah (IRE)
Has won all 4 handicap hurdle starts since joining Aidan Melia, including twice at the Galway Festival, and well treated if translating that improvement to the Flat.
Jerandme (IRE)
In the twilight of his career so hard to see him ending his losing run in this competitive event back on the Flat.
Sequoiaspirit (IRE)
Ran well back in this sphere when third at Killarney and has been in good form over hurdles subsequently (stiff task last time).
Day Trader (FR)
Winner on the Flat in France. Hadn't offered much in this sphere for current yard until a close second of 17 at Galway last month and claims if building on that stepping up in trip.
Miss Gitana (IRE)
Best efforts for current yard when placed at Leopardstown and Tramore last 2 starts, though she had the run of things on both occasions.
Liberated Light (IRE)
Runner-up in Amateurs' Derby at Epsom in summer of 2023. Won twice over hurdles since before creditable efforts back in this sphere the last twice (not seen to best effect last time). Not one to write off.
Rich Belief
Course winner. Twelve runs since last win in 2024. 8/1, respectable second of 13 in claiming hurdle at Bellewstown (2½m, good) 7 days ago. Significantly back up in trip.
Jurality
Gained reward for consistency when finally getting off the mark at Navan (13f) in June and went within a nose of following up at Bellewstown next time. Respectable fifth of 9 in handicap at Killarney (14.4f, good, 16/1) 12 days ago. Blinkers back on.
Cala Gracioneta (IRE)
Fair maiden. 12/1, good second of 22 in handicap at this course (1¾m, good) 6 days ago. Likely to be on the premises if in similar form.
Young Churchill (IRE)
Best run for current yard when third of 12 in handicap at Limerick (12.3f, good to firm) in July but latest Sligo run was below par.
Slowdownbarney (IRE)
Quirky sort. One win from 23 Flat runs. Pulled up in claiming hurdle at Sligo (2¼m, good) 27 days ago. Hard to fancy.
