HOUNDSWORTH arrives in better heart than his recent figures suggests and looks worth chancing to get back to winning ways in an ordinary handicap. Le Diablo was back to form at Wexford last time and is likely to prove the biggest threat if backing that performance up, whilst Bhean Saibhre is respected having won at this course last season.

Bhean Saibhre (IRE)
Strong-travelling sort who won a conditional maiden at this course last season but arrives on the back of 2 poor efforts, racing too freely when upped in trip at Limerick last time. Reverts to more suitable trip but needs to bounce back.
Houndsworth (IRE)
Improved when winning on handicap debut at Cork in April and better than result on both starts since, hampered approaching last and running wide home turn when 4¾ lengths sixth of 10 to Blue Moon Boy in novice hurdle at Downpatrick last time. One for the shortlist now reverting to a handicap.
Le Diablo (FR)
Got off the mark in handicap at Clonmel in April and turned in easily his best effort since when 3¼ lengths second of 14 to Backinabit in similar event at Wexford last time. Obvious claims if repeating that effort with a first-time tongue strap applied, with yard back among the winners.
Doctor Confusion (FR)
Never better than mid-field in maiden hurdles and ran badly upped in trip on handicap debut when last seen in August. Handicapper has dropped him 5 lb but unlikely to be of much interest unless the market states otherwise on return.
Valsorpresa
On a lengthy losing run but ran one of his better efforts since joining current connections when 13½ lengths sixth of 15 to Can Happen in handicap at this course on return from 7-month absence in May. Tongue tie worn that day is retained.
Marlpark (IRE)
Lightly raced and little impact since 2024/25. On a good mark but can't be relied upon and looks stable second string on jockey bookings in any case.
Max Meridius (IRE)
Flat bred who made more impact than previously over hurdles when 7½ lengths fifth of 16 to Timurshah in handicap at Clonmel last month. That form has worked out quite well but has run poorly back on the Flat since and this slightly longer trip isn't sure to suit.
Ballinvasas Best (IRE)
Showed promise on first 3 starts in maiden hurdles but offered little on return from near 2-year absence at Listowel in May. Difficult to know how much ability she retains now tackling a handicap.
At The Wings (IRE)
Placed in a bumper in 2024. Little to shout about over hurdles, including on return from 8-months off last time. Races from 2 lb out of the handicap.
