Building up a decent record at Cartmel, resuming winning ways under today's rider in 29f veterans handicap chase (5 ran) in May and running a good race over C&D 3 weeks ago. Respected again.
Red Happy (FR)
Fifteen-time winner but has lost all enthusiasm, refusing to race again here on Saturday.
Sean Og (IRE)
Course specialist, scoring for a fifth time here in 21f handicap chase on Saturday. Can never be dismissed at this track, although carries a penalty now and this longer trip possibly not ideal.
Le Malin (FR)
Finally got his act together for current connections when winning 13-runner handicap chase at Down Royal (21f) in December 2024. 19-month absence to overcome, but potentially well handicapped if retaining ability and this trip should be fine.
Slaney Opera (IRE)
Successful at Sedgefield (3¼m) in January for Ruth Jefferson. Has proved expensive to follow so far for current connections (let down by jumping at Newton Abbot last week), though below last winning mark now and Cartmel's marathon run-in should suit. Could be worth chancing.
