A competitive handicap which can go the way of TOASTMASTER, who has shaped well when third on both starts for current connections and goes from an unchanged mark here. French Affair was one place behind the selection over C&D last time and might prove the biggest threat again, whilst Vega Storm appeals as a potential improver on handicap debut.

Comentários Timeform

Three Non Blondes
Made it 2-3 when comfortably on top on 7f Wolverhampton handicap debut in January. Ran creditably despite looking to find the drop to 6f against here when fifth of 14 when last seen at Newcastle at the start of April. Return to further will suit having since left K. R. Burke for 45,000 gns.
Galileo Island (IRE)
Winner of a Chelmsford maiden in August before following up on handicap bow at Epsom a month later. Good efforts when in the frame on his last 2 outings on all-weather, albeit with the run of the race at Southwell on New Year's Day, but he may need this outing now sporting cheekpieces after a break.
Flight Control (IRE)
Calyx gelding who was sold unraced by Coolmore last autumn and looked a shrewd purchase in making a winning start in 14-runner 6f course novice (good to firm). Matched, rather than improved upon, that form in 2 similar races since but opening mark looks fair enough.
Chale Chalo (IRE)
Got up late to win a 4-runner nursery at Lingfield (7f, all-weather) in December and ran at least when runner-up in a stronger 8-runner race at Southwell (7f) the following month. Broke his maiden on turf last summer and he's worth a betting check up another 1 lb after more than 5 months off.
Watcha Snoop (IRE)
Stiff tasks on final 2 starts as a juvenile following a convincing Ascot novice success last September. Down the field all 3 starts in handicaps this season, though, including upped to this trip at Kempton last time. Cheekpieces need to have transformative effect.
Gesayed
Overcame inexperience to make a successful debut at Hamilton (6f) in June. Didn't race again at 2 yrs but has run to a similar level in novice events under a penalty so far this season, most recently when fifth of 7 at Ascot (1m) early last month. Should do better now handicapping.
French Affair (IRE)
Successful over 6f as a juvenile and has improved in defeat this season, posting just about his best effort yet when second of 20 in handicap at York (7f) in May. Backed that up with a creditable fourth in a 10-runner C&D event 2 weeks ago and he's likely to be in the mix again.
Cotai Eye Joe (IRE)
Took a step forward when opening his account in 11-runner maiden at Wolverhampton (7f) in April but never better than mid-field on handicap bow at York 4 weeks ago and he still looks too high in the weights.
Mighty Vega (IRE)
In fine form on polytrack at Lingfield this spring, scoring in March and twice a runner-up before finding a bit more improvement to record a first success on turf in a 7-runner event there (7f, good) last month. Again ran creditably when third at Chester (7f, soft) 2 weeks ago and he's respected.
Toastmaster (IRE)
Consistent on the whole for the Crisfords and produced an improved display on debut for new yard when third in a big field York handicap (7f) 2 weeks ago. Turned the tables with French Affair (ahead of him at York) when a close third in a C&D handicap 2 weeks ago and he's shortlisted from same mark.
Comprador
Consistent rather than progressive when placed all 3 starts in novice/maidens and it's been a similar story in 2 handicap outings so far, leaving Ed Walker prior to his third in a 11-runner event at Wolverhampton 3 weeks ago. Tongue strap goes on 1st time.
Harswell Angel (IRE)
Winner at Redcar on his penultimate start at 2 yrs and he arrives here in better heart than form figures suggest, meeting interference at the start and not getting the smoothest of passages late when eighth of 20 in handicap (25/1) at York (7f, good) 28 days ago. Not discounted from easing mark.
Vega Storm (IRE)
Third in a Newcastle maiden on debut before filling the same position in a Ripon novice (both 6f). Took a step forward in form terms when fifth of 11 in novice at Catterick (7f, good, 11/1) 40 days ago, the longer trip clearly suiting well. Should progress now handicapping.
