Relished the step up to 1¾m last season, scoring in clear-cut fashion at Haydock and Chester in September. Back on track when second at Nottingham last month and not beaten far at Hamilton since. Warrants respect.

Three-time winner in France but yet to beat a rival home in either start for new connections on these shores.
So Alex (IRE)
Dual winner at Wolverhampton last winter and back on the up when good second of 5 in handicap at Ripon (1½m, good) 18 days ago. Enters calculations.
Banderas (IRE)
Scored over longer trip (off 3 lb lower) here last summer and arrives on back of victory over hurdles at Hexham last month. Likely player.
Torcello (IRE)
Took advantage of much-reduced mark when landing 6-runner handicap at Haydock (2m, soft, 11/4) 25 days ago. 5 lb rise fair and is one for the shortlist.
Circuit Breaker
Not scored since 2023 and no more than respectable sixth in Ascot handicap 38 days ago. Others preferred.
Dance Time
All wins have come on all-weather but shaped better than bare result on turf the last twice, latest when denied a clear run at Chester last month. Figures off a handy mark.
Clansman
In good form since reappearing in January, following a couple of solid placed efforts with a deserved first success on the all-weather at Newcastle in March. Dug deep having looked in trouble to add to his tally at Southwell (16.5f) in April and every chance he'll feature again back on turf.
Marbuzet
Enjoyed a fruitful 2025 campaign, winning twice and making the frame on 6 other occasions, including when fourth of 16 at York last October. Shaped as if needing his return at Thirsk on return last month and no surprise if he's much closer to form here.
Trojan Sun
Kept busy last year, winning 4 times from 19 runs. Returned to form when third at Musselburgh in April and drops back in grade after well held in stronger contest at Hamilton last month. Each-way claims.
Scotland The Brave
Newcastle handicap winner last year but offered little, back from 14 months off, at this course 6 days ago.
Pyramid Place (IRE)
Multiple winner over hurdles but finished well held on debut for new yard at Hexham 9 days ago and makes limited appeal back on Flat here. Tongue strap on first time in this code.
Arctic Fox
Bagged this contest off same mark last year and run creditably in both starts this term, latest when third of 8 in handicap at Catterick (2m, good, 9/1) 35 days ago. Ought to go well again.
Stand Strong
Off mark at Newcastle (2m) in August and went down by only a neck in 5-runner race there the following month. Should be straighter for last month's return and usual blinkers are now reapplied.
